Description
Product description Planet Monsters is a Puzzle game, developed by Planet Interactive and published by Titus Software, which was released in 2001. Amazon.com In this quirky, fast-paced game that combines elements of combat and puzzle solving, your mission is to be the last monster standing by utilizing the game's weaponry--including magic wands, guns, balls, and blocks--against the opposition. There are 40 levels across eight universes, eight planet monsters from which to choose, and link cable support for four players. Review Planet Monsters is an old-skool arcade game that blends puzzling and combat. You battle to wipe out three other monsters while running round the mazelike levels, squashing them with blocks, blowing them up with bombs, etc. But watch out--they're trying to do the same to you, and if you get squashed you'll have to start the level all over again. There are a bunch of other fatal enemies waddling round too, plus a variety of power-ups to help you on your mission. Each of the eight game worlds has five levels and a boss. The graphics and sound are cute but nothing special. Once you get the hang of it, the gameplay is fun, but though it does evolve as you progress, experienced gamers might find themselves getting a little bored after a few levels and will probably complete it pretty quickly. But there's a multiplayer mode which lets up to four players battle via a link cable with just the one game cartridge, and this will probably provide much more long term fun than the single-player game. --Rikki Price -- Amazon.co.uk See more

I am an adult who enjoys puzzle games and I really liked this one. The planet has been taken over by monsters and you must "fight" them to see who is the best. You must work your way through a maze of blocks and eliminate 3 monsters. There are 8 worlds with 5 levels each and a boss at the end of each. You can use the A button to push blocks and squash the enemy, or you can pick up special items such as a bubble gun to freeze them, a clock to stop all of them for a few seconds (both of these make them easier to squash) or a bomb to blast them. The enemies can also pick up these items, so get them first! Aside from the 3 you must eliminate, there are others who will harm you, and when you kill them, they will leave a reward to pick up for points, however, they will regenerate. There is a radar screen in the bottom corner which is very helpful when trying to locate the 3 enemies. You accumulate points by eliminating any monster and for the time you have left when all 3 are defeated. You can earn extra lives by getting points, or collecting all of the letters of the words MONSTERS and/or EXTRA. There is a password for each world, but beware, when you use the password, you start at the beginning of the world with zero points and only 4 lives. I think the graphics are great. The monsters are different on each level and the mazes contain unique obstacles. The bosses are a challange, but not impossible to defeat. The levels of difficulty merely increase the speed - whoa it gets fast. I felt this game was well worth the money.
