Learn the basics of the game in minutes and the more complex rules as the need arises (for example when one player owns both teams in a game - which is rare.)I liked the retro look of the game.This is the 3rd or 4th version of the game that was first released in the 50's. This version is based around the 1980 Fa Cup competition. Whilst this in no way detracts from the fun, a more up to date campaign would be welcome too.We play game after game of Wembley and the drama and suspense is real - we particularly love it when we see a 'giant killing!'If your football loving kids are getting stir crazy this will certainly cheer them up.Can be played quite well with 2 players, but 3 or more seems better - there are 3 of us and it adds to the game....can be played by between 2 and 12 players.Yes, buy it.Oh how this game has improved with age. Clever company has tweaked this game beautifully. Trust me, I LOVED my old version of this, but this new version is better. The quality of the cards is greater. The bonuses and International Players rules are vastly improved, now having a more balanced effect on the game and the gate money of final rounds makes it a more tactical game too. Well done, Gibsons!A fun game and an exact replica of the original version I used to have in the 70's. It's still flawed as well, as the 3rd/4th division teams are the only teams who have a 5 on their dice and even though their weighted, it still gives them an advantage. Have played twice and Hereford and Rochdale have so far won the cup !!!!Great game. Simple to play, you don't need to know about football to take part, and each game takes about the right length of time to keep both adults and kids interested. My 2 children love it as do the grandparents. Just the right blend of tactics and chance too. Thoroughly recommended, a great family game.Hard at first to work out but once you start playing it’s a great way to pass a hour
